LÖHER is a firm that was established in İzmir in 1967 to manufacture elevators. From the beginning to today, the firm has showed each year a better performance and now it has a good place among elevator producers.
Today, our firm has a manufacturing center of 5000 m2 area in İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone and also regional management offices in İstanbul and Ankara. Löher is also able to offer its customers the ultimate technical services before and after sales, in different regions of Turkey and the world, thanks to its Authorised Regional Contractor Firms Market share of Löher in the elevators sector is increasing every year.LÖHER manufactures approximately 300 elevators in a year and also produces various components for more than 500 elevators and sales them as package elevators.
Our firm has obtained the right to use CE mark on its products, according to the documents TS-EN-ISO 9001:2000 and 95/16/AT Elevator Directory – Appendix XIII ( Module H ) issued by the Holland originated firm LIFTINSTITUUT. In this way, all of the standards required for elevators are fulfilled. The firm has more than 150 employees working in its mechanic, electronic, installation and maintenance departments.
However, some developments in the escalators market that is directly related to the elevator market have urged LÖHER to become also an escalators manufacturer. Because in the last 15-20 years, many small escalator manufacturing companies in Europe have been bought by big competitors and the market is almost monopolized. In case of they need both elevator and escalator, the building contractors prefer to buy these goods from one company. As a result of monopolization many of small and medium size elevator manufacturers confronted with difficulties.
As the production of escalators in our country has emerged as a necessity, Löher has observed lacks and needs of escalator sector and decided to manufacture escalators in its own factory. LÖHER has begun to make studies on manufacturing escalators in 1999. It has made various investigations in Canada, USA, Germany and Austria and after long experiments, in cooperation with university, TTGV (Turkish Technology Development Foundation) and TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey) it has manufactured the escalators that is absolutely its own design and submit to usage of domestic and foreign markets.
Needles to say that, just like in manufacturing elevators, the norms described in EN 115 (Europe Escalators Norms) are strictly implied and the right to use CE sign is obtained thanks to Machine Direction 98/37/EC, EN 115: 1998 Document conducted by the firm LIFTINSTITUUT.
Our escalators which are produced as a result of big investments, studies, investigations and experiments are used in all over Turkey and abroad as Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkish Republics, Austria, Poland, Israel, Libya, Sudan, Iraq, Iran and Republic of Guinea.
The firms which demand elevators and escalators should bear on mind that in Turkey, there is no other firm which can produce escalators with CE certificate, all other escalators are completely imported and therefore we have a lot of advantages regarding to our foreign competitors. Besides of being “the one and only firm in Turkey which can produce escalators with CE certificate”, our firm protects its position among the five leading firms in Europe.
